Aortic dissection Model for Vascular Fluid Dynamics Research

Jul 31, 2018

The aorta is the main artery in the human body, originating from the left ventricle of the heart and extending down to the abdomen. The aorta distributes oxygenated blood to all parts of the body through the systemic circulation. The wall of the aorta consists of 3 layers: the intima, media, and adventitia.A dissection occurs when a tear of the intima (the inner lining) allows blood to leak into the media (middle layer).
In clinical work, physicians often classify the Aortic Dissections into Stanford A Type和Stanford B Type based on how far the tear spreads.
A - Originated and involves ascending aorta.
B - Originated and involves descending aorta
Type A dissections require immediate open-chest surgical repair. Type B dissections are usually treated by Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR), a minimally invasive procedure. The aorta may be accessed through an incision on a patient's sides--unfortunately, often a technically more difficult procedure.

We trandomed can provide 3D printing silicone Aortic Dissections Model based on real human CT/MRI data, which can be used for surgery demonstration. It is also a good help for young surgeons to improve their surgery skills.
We also accept CT/MRI data from your side so that doctors can accurately observe patient’s lesion region from the model and plan more targeted treatment, thus reducing the operation time. 3D printing technique fuel the Precision Medicine.
