3D printing is an additive manufacturing process of creating a three-dimension object by laying down successive layers of material. Currently thermoplastic wire, UV resin, metal powder and other common material are available across most well-developed 3D printing technologies for hard model fabrication. 3D printing silicone technology, developed by Trandomed, can custom soft model with complex suspension or cavity structure by taking thermosetting silicone as printing material, combining with soluble support material. During printing process of every layer, low viscosity silicone is deposited into pre-design shapes by print head direct writing, meanwhile, heating source will work on silicone for rapid thermoset. After finishing, we will do secondary heating and solidification to the parts, and remove support material by soaking and cleaning, then you will get your silicone model.
